Marilyn
Kingma is publisher of the apartment guides for The Kingma Agency. In a
real sense, her work is her calling. For Marilyn, sales is about
taking care of people's needs.
She's
been at it since the 1970's and she's good at it - so good in fact that
she has been part of the speaking circuit, traveling across the country
talking about sales and marketing. After achieving recognition as a
top sales person for a national direct sales organization, Marilyn
continued with high personal and group sales achievements for over ten
years.
She
recruited participants from throughout the country to travel and perform
with the U.S. National Chorus, a
musical group that toured for several summers throughout Europe and
Australia
.
Marilyn
has been publisher and head of sales of the New
River Valley Apartment Guide since 1987, and the Roanoke Valley Apartment Guide since 1992. For several years, she
has served on the Board of Directors holding various offices in both the
Roanoke
Valley
and
New River
Valley
Apartment Associations. She was recognized as outstanding Vender of the
year by the Virginia Apartment Managers Association in 2004.
She
graduated from
Purdue
University
with a degree in Elementary Education, and worked as a teacher before
starting a family. She raised three talented children, and has worked
closely with her husband as partner and officer of the Kingma
Agency since its inception. Her winning personality, understanding of
the sales process, and exceptional people skills have been a large part of
the success of the agency.
